The SCGA joins the entire golf community in extending its deepest support and compassion to those impacted by the wildfires across Los Angeles County. We are deeply concerned and distraught from the devastation this tragedy has brought, and we share in the heartbreak that our area has suffered.
Along with a matching gift of $250,000, the SCGA has determined the best and most impactful way to assist with relief and recovery efforts is to unite and amplify the golf industry’s response.
As such, we have created a fundraising page through the California Community Foundation. Together, we can make an impact and showcase the game’s philanthropic spirit and generosity.
In addition, we've gathered golf-specific resources below to help guide your efforts and support those in the golf community who have been displaced.
Your support is critical as it shows the strength of the greater golf community and encourages others to join us for a more substantial impact.
Keep an eye out for stories and updates from the SCGA on how the golf industry is supporting relief and recovery efforts through our digital and print vehicles.

DID YOU KNOW: Joseph Sartori (1858-1946), one of the founders of the SCGA (and The Los Angeles Country Club), was also the founder of the California Community Foundation (CCF). Both organizations are each over 100 years old and are now serendipitously partnered together for the first time on this critical campaign in 2025.
After co-founding the SCGA in 1899, Satori launched the CCF in 1915 with a goal of raising $1 million and he delivered. With his passing in 1946, Sartori created a legacy fund of $1 million that is still active today. He was instrumental in building Southern California foundations in real estate, oil and gas, water, transportation, municipal bonds, banking legislation, golf, and philanthropy.
Sartori’s legacy of community-building and philanthropy stretches far and wide in Southern California. These are principles the SCGA will continue to embrace as it partners with the CCF to support wildfire relief efforts. Just as Sartori laid the groundwork for numerous transformative initiatives across the Southland, the SCGA and CCF are uniting their resources and networks to address one of the region's most pressing current challenges.
By launching a fundraiser dedicated to wildfire relief, the SCGA continues Sartori's spirit of community leadership, using golf as a platform to rally support for those affected. Together, these organizations honor Sartori’s enduring vision.
