This is a traveling Matchplay League. We do not have a home course, rather we play a different course every month. We typically play in the San Bernardino, Inland Empire area, but go as far south as Temecula, San Jacinto, and Hemet, as far east as Palm Springs every September for our championship, and periodically in Los Angeles County. Standard Courses include, but are not limited to: Soboba Springs, Menifee Lakes, Dos Lagos, Yucaipa Valley, Tukwet/Morongo, San Dimas, and other courses based on their condition, and availability. In Palm Springs we play Desert Willows, Indian Hills, Marriott's Desert Springs, Eagle Falls, etc. etc.
We currently have 6 teams that will place 6 of their players against one of the other teams. It’s typical that a team will have 8 to 10 golfers so that when one player can’t make it there is a substitute player for them. All can play that month, but only 6 can compete as representatives for that team. If a team is short a player that month, they are allowed to bring in substitutes from another team or from outside the league.
SCIGL, the Southern California Industrial Golf League, stated in 1959. Since then there have been hundreds and hundreds of individuals that have played in this league. None of the original teams are active anymore, but we continue with the same spirit of maintaining a competitive, yet recreational golf league for players of ALL calibers.
