Balboa Golf Course opened in 1919 and the Clubhouse in 1934. The Great Sam Snead striped a round of 60 and set the course record which still stands to this day! Engage in and enjoy Events/Tournaments at Balboa three to four times a month. Our home Events are played on Wednesdays and Sundays (and, Saturdays if multi-day events). Add to the mix Club Wide Match Play, Team Match Play vs other So Cal Men's Clubs, and even the occasional mixed events with the Women's Club! Balboa's Championship Events are held over the course of the entire year.
Our Events/Tournaments are competitive with a wide variety of formats. We pay out 40 PLUS percent of the entire field (Gross & Net). You have to try really hard (or not try) to end up out of the money. We urge you to visit Tobey's Restaurant after every event for a brew, food, and to mix it up with fellow members and new friends.......Also, enjoy 10% off merchandise in the pro shop plus 10% off food & drink at Tobey's for ALL club members (do keep & show your golf receipt). Get on the fast track to improving your game and have Range Baskets full of FUN on one of Southern California's most competitive 18-hole golf courses! Play it, you'll know what I'm talking about!!
The Balboa Park Men’s Golf Club was founded to help further the enjoyment of the game of golf. Our club boasts all ages, skill sets, and last but not least......some VERY, VERY, colorful characters! Three to four monthly Men’s Club Events are held each month on Wednesdays and Sundays. Every Event/Tournament you play, your Event fee will include you into the Closet to the Pin Pot on all four-par 3's, the Hole in One Pot (which can quickly become HUGE! The stories you'll hear.....OMG!!), and you can also pony up for the ever-popular: Side Games Pot. The Wednesday Events are played from the white tees while the Sunday Events are played from the blue tees and yes, the hybrid blue & white combo tees!

Balboa Park Golf Course is the oldest public golf facility in San Diego. Balboa offers a driving range, pro shop, restaurant, halfway house and practice greens. The views of Downtown and the Pacific Ocean are beautiful and there's a 9 hole course as well!
